1. About Taco Pay
Taco Pay is a technology platform that lets you create and manage prepaid virtual cards in US dollars for online payments, and add funds to them using the top-up methods available in the app.
Taco Pay is not a bank. We are not a bank, a digital bank or any other kind of financial institution, and we do not present ourselves as one. We do not open bank accounts, hold savings, pay interest or grant loans or credit. Card issuance and the processing of card payments are carried out by third-party providers.
By creating an account or using Taco Pay, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Your account
To use Taco Pay you must:
- be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement;
- provide accurate and complete information, and keep it up to date;
- confirm your email address with the code we send you;
- complete identity verification with an identity document and a selfie before adding funds or requesting cards.
Your account is personal. You may not open accounts for other people or let anyone else use yours. We may refuse to open an account, or ask for more information, when we cannot verify your identity.
3. Virtual cards
Taco Pay cards are prepaid virtual cards in US dollars, issued by third-party providers. Each card has its own balance, and you can only spend the balance you have loaded.
- You can hold more than one card, up to the limit shown in the app.
- You can freeze and unfreeze a card, and remove a card you no longer need.
- Your full card details are shown only after you confirm a code sent to your email.
Each merchant decides which cards it accepts. We cannot guarantee that a particular merchant, website or service will accept a Taco Pay card, and some may decline prepaid or virtual cards.
4. Adding funds
You can add funds using the methods shown in the app at the time of your top-up. Available methods may change, and some may be unavailable at times.
- Mobile wallets through local agents. You pay an authorised agent listed in the app from your mobile wallet and upload proof of payment. The balance is credited after the payment is reviewed and confirmed.
- Crypto (USDT). You send USDT to the deposit address and network shown in the app. The balance is credited after the transaction is confirmed.
Only follow payment instructions shown inside the Taco Pay app, and only pay agents listed there. USDT sent to the wrong address, on the wrong network or in a different asset may not be recoverable. We are not responsible for payments made outside the instructions shown in the app.
5. Fees and exchange rates
Fees apply when you request a card and when you add funds. Before you confirm, the app shows the amount, the fees, the exchange rate where applicable and the total to pay. By confirming, you accept that breakdown.
We may change our fees. Changes apply only to transactions you confirm after the change.
6. Acceptable use
You may only use Taco Pay for lawful purposes. You must not use your account or cards for:
- money laundering, terrorist financing or evading sanctions;
- fraud, including deliberately false disputes or chargebacks;
- illegal goods or services, or any activity prohibited by law;
- buying, selling or sharing accounts or cards.
We may review activity on your account and ask you for information about it.
7. Keeping your account safe
You are responsible for keeping your password, email account and one-time codes secure. Never share a code with anyone. If you think someone else has access to your account or card, freeze your cards and contact us straight away.
8. Refunds and disputes
If something goes wrong with a purchase, contact the merchant first. Refunds a merchant sends back to your card are added to that card's balance once they are received. If you cannot resolve the issue with the merchant, contact us and we will help where we can; some disputes depend on the third-party providers and card network rules.
9. Suspension and closure
We may suspend or close an account, or freeze cards, if we are required to by law or by our providers, if we suspect fraud or misuse, or if these terms are breached. Where we are allowed to, we will tell you why. You can ask us to close your account at any time.
10. Our responsibility
We work to keep Taco Pay available and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will always be uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by:
- merchants declining a card;
- interruptions or decisions of third-party providers, mobile wallet operators or blockchain networks;
- payments made outside the instructions shown in the app;
- events outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable law that cannot be excluded.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when our service or the law changes. We will publish the new version on this page with a new date. If you keep using Taco Pay after the change, the updated terms apply.
